Galerie ParchemineA glorious late-19th-century building in the very heart of Old Montreal provides the setting for the framing ECONOMUSEUM. Inside, you will find the artisan, an expert in European framing techniques – a precious expertise that dates back several centuries. He will be able to demythify the techniques used to make the “marie-louise” – the frame’s fabric-covered liner – and the tinting technique, both highly valued by our ancestors before ourselves. Come discover how a simple frame can be made into a veritable work of art. If you have dreamed of framing your photos, jewels or memories, then let yourself be tempted by the wash-tinting, grooves, and gold leaf mouldings. The gallery also offers a vast selection of works by excellent international artists.
