The Dark Tickle Company

Bakeapple berries, partridgeberries, crowberries, blueberries and squashberries grow in the heart of a typical Newfoundland peat bog. These small wild berries are featured in the delectable recipes of Gwendolyn and Stephen Knudsen, owners of the wild berries ECONOMUSEUM. Take a walk down the interpretive trail and discover these fruits in their natural habitat. Visit the workshop and see how these little delights are processed into renowned jams, jellies, sauces, vinegars and now chocolates. Delve into rich works on the ecology of small wild berries, on their uses over the centuries, and on how to identify them. Finally, before leaving the premises, be sure to sample a partridgeberry sundae or purchase one of the delicious products from the boutique to take home in your suitcase. Truly sinful little delicacies with a taste of nature!
