Artifacts in Clay

Artifacts in Clay is a production pottery studio specializing in functional stoneware sculpture. Discover Christie Chaplin-Saunders’ colourful pottery inspired by forms found in nature, and especially the sea. See how she uses the traditional press mold method to reproduce original pieces, which are then painted and trimmed. Learn about the history of ceramics throughout the ages and the province. Her beautiful studio and boutique, on the outskirts of the seaside village of Chester, are a must see for anyone interested in works of art that are also food and microwave safe. Her “better than lifelike” creations make tasteful gifts anyone would treasure.
